Next generation Apple iPad Tablet 8 Inches - Apple is working with component suppliers in Asia to test the new version of the popular tablet computer with a smaller screen. Similarly, some U.S. media reported on Tuesday (14/2). According to a report in The Wall Street Journal, the official party at some Apple supplier, who declined to be named, said Apple has been shown to display their designs for a new tablet-sized screen is about 8 inches. In comparison, Apple’s flagship tablet, iPad, has a 9.7 inch screen.
These smaller tablets will help Apple to expand its product offerings to compete with its rivals such as Samsung Electronics and Amazon, which maintains the dominant share of the market. Recent figures from market research firm IDC showed that Apple’s market share reached 61.5 percent globally tablets in the third quarter of 2011, down from 68.3 percent in the previous quarter. The news from Apple is a small tablet testing comes after the company reportedly is preparing to launch the latest generation iPad in early March. For the screens, the latest iPad will be sized 9.7-inch screen and is still the same as the current generation of iPad 2.
